Metals > Intro | Platinum | Gold |Titanium

Titanium was discovered over 200 years ago and its name was derived from the “Titans” of Greek mythology, who were known for their extreme and superior strength. Titanium is much harder than gold, silver and even platinum! In addition to its strength, titanium is hypoallergenic (it is the primary material for prosthetic implants), tarnish resistant and extremely lightweight.

Titanium rings have distinct advantages over jewelry made of other materials.  Not only is it strong, but the main thing you will notice is the weight.  Titanium rings weigh one-quarter of the weight of the same rings in platinum. In addition, it is corrosion resistant.

Today, titanium is widely used in the aerospace and medical industries; however, due to its many desirable properties and its luxurious texture, it is also incorporated in jewelry making.
